Gem & Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) chairman Rajiv Jain inaugurated the Tradeo branch of the Indian Institute of Gems & Jewellery (IIGJ) in South Mumbai on March 21. In his speech, Jain traced the history of the Jewellery Production Development Centre (JPDC) and the GJEPC, nothing that the latter was instrumental in setting up premier educational training centres all over the country under the banner of IIGJ.
IIGJ chairman Vasant Mehta welcomed the prominent industry attendees, while OOGJ convenor Namita Pandya outlined her vision for training programmes in future. In his address, GJEPC vice chairman Sanjay Kothari exhorted the Council to arrange funds for the promotion of educationl work.
The Tardeo institute has commenced classes for CAD Rhino and will soon start the Basic & Advance Jewellery Design course, the Introductdion to Diamond Grading course as well as the Introduction to Enamelling course.
GJEPC ccommittee member Pravinshankar Pandya stressed the need for co-ordiation of all training programmes between IIGJ institutes in Tardeo, Andheri and Jaipur.
