If you are a Mumbaikar, you can buy a sweater. Mumbai temperature will drop to 15 degree Celsius in next 2 days. That is what weathermen are predicting as minimum temperatures. The minimum temperature on Sunday was 19.8 degrees. The local meteorological office says that a cold wave in the north is responsible for the chill.
Sunday was less cooler than Saturday, but, with 26 degrees, the maximum temperature in the suburbs was four degrees below normal 30 degrees. South Mumbai recorded a maximum temperature of 28 degrees. Mumbai usually records its coldest December day in the last ten days of the month.
Residents are already making a line at clinics with running noses and sore throat.
Areas like Kalyan, Dombivli, Vashi etc are recording even lower temperatures. These places have open places and more tree cover. Nashik, with a minimum temperature of seven degrees Celsius, is one of the coldest places in Maharashtra right now.
