Silver prices rose by Rs 395 to Rs 41,865 per kg in futures trade on Monday, as speculators enlarged their positions in tandem with firming global trend. At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for December contract rose by Rs 395 or 0.95 per cent to Rs 41,865 per kg in single lot. In a similar fashion, the white metal for delivery in March contract moved up by Rs 386 or 0.93 per cent to Rs 42,060 per kg in just one lot.
Market analysts said fresh buying by speculators in tandem with firming global trend led to the rise in silver prices. Meanwhile, in the Asian region, silver price in Singapore market was up by 1.24 per cent to 27.69 dollar an ounce.
