Like What You Do, Do What You Like

It’s never easy to be happy with what you have. Like this scorching summer of which we have had enough now. Or rains, which we will have enough once the season will be set full on in few weeks. The basic psyche of humans is never to feel satisfied with anything. This very feeling is a double edged sword. While it keeps inspiring you to innovate and progress, it also affects your mind by giving feeling of monotony in whatever you may be doing.

Come out of this curious behaviour of mind. Think like a Sadhu who goes on doing tapasya (penance) uninterruptedly for years to get God’s blessings. Or like a scientist who untiringly researches on the same subjects, sometime for decades, before he discovers an ultimate thing.

A right person always loves his work and surrounding, however boring or uninteresting they may look. After all, nothing remains as interesting after a certain time as one finds it while encountering for the first time. Still, life is about performance and not complaints. Life is about adjusting to things and not about mending things for adjustments. Those who feel that their work has becoming unexciting needs to look inside and ask only one thing, “Will any other work remain exciting after spending few years doing it?”

You don’t choose your parents still you love them. In case of your work, possibility is that you have chosen it for yourself. If not so, worked hard to learn and master it because you had no option to accept what destiny gave you. Now, the only logical way to be what you want to be is first, be the best in your work, achieve everything you crave for through it and second, pursue your other dreams when you are sure you have made a place for yourself in your field.

Remember that even the Himalaya is just another mountain who lives in its plains. So, if you want to enjoy the Himalayan beauty in your world, you have to visit it daily like a tourist and not as a native of it. This will give you inspiration to have different outlook towards everything. This will help you try things which were known but ignored. What is the meaning of thinking of a switch over when you know that the same monotony is bound to hit you elsewhere too? So, stick to what you are already doing. Love it the way you loved it on the day one and experiment with it, play with it like a child does with a toy!

This will surely change you from within instead of unnecessarily forcing you towards thinking of a change!
