FURSAT KE RAAT-DIN… WHEN?

“Oh! I am really tired for the day and as such, I have an early morning meeting tomorrow, so let me go to sleep now.” Charit told her wife very clearly and then, without paying any attention to her, he crashed instantly on bed to fall asleep. His wife Sneha was left alone with so many things she wanted to tell her. Her voice was choked and her feelings, shattered. But then, Rachit was a big time executive of a leading corporate house and it was his duty to work for diligently for the company, so his house remains happy.

But the same Charit was quite a different man just five years ago. He was dating Sneha then and he used to say her with big eyes, “I just want to enjoy my life to the fullest with you. I know it’s a competitive world but what’s the use of becoming a winner with money when you are loser of small happiness of life? My intention is to make sure our social security and financial stability so I will never become an overambitious who overlooks wife.” Today, he has literally joined the rat race like millions of others. He is certainly making great money but unfortunately, he is not making great on the family front. Does this make any sense?

For whom do you earn? For adding more funds to your bank? For buying bigger and better car? For showing off? Or just because everyone else believes in the theory of more the merrier when it comes to money? We often hear people saying about their dreams of early retirement, well-planned days and allocating quality time to their loved ones but we seldom find out someone who has released such a dream. The only goal set by most people in their best age is to run fast, faster and then, the fastest. Can we breathe little easy before falling prey to such a race?

The only few things that can really make happy forever are your family, your health, your contentment and your control over your greed. True you have to progress but at what cost is a very important question. It makes no sense just to say I love my family or I believe in living happily with what I have. You have to implement it, you have to apply it in reality to see how beautifully it changes the life. You can have more money for sure, but you will never have more hours in a day, neither will you have more years in your youth or any stage of life. It’s better to slow down when running becomes a habit from need. It’s better to savour what is earned than to starve for what is not earned.

The magic of this logic is very simple: If you want to feel peace, feel it now. And once you will start feeling it, you will actually start living every moment in the best manner.
