The Golden Kela nominations for the worst of Bollywood of the year are here and we're loving it!
For those who don't know about the Golden Kela Awards here is a short info on it.
What is it?
It is an annual awards ceremony that is held each year where awards are given for the year's worst in Bollywood. In simpler terms, it is the Indian version of the Razzies.
Who created it?
It was created by Random Magazine, India's longest running humor magazine in the year 2009.
Why was it created?
In order to ridicule the bad performances and as a revenge for wasting our precio
us time and money on such idiotic films.
The Golden Kela Awards have announced the nominations for this year and Shah Rukh Khan and Aishwarya Rai have been announced as the nominees for the worst male and female actor respectively amongst many others. Shah Rukh has been nominated for his role of an autistic man in 'My Name Is Khan' while Aishwarya Rai has been nominated for her dramatic role in 'Raavan'.
As we know Aishwarya Rai has been giving flops with movies like 'Raavan', 'Action Replayy' and the recent 'Guzaarish'. Her nomination seems worthy enough but Shah Rukh has won a filmfare Award for the same role which makes us wonder if it is all that fair.
The 3rd Golden Kela Awards will be hosted by Cyrus Broacha this year. Cyrus has long been associated with these awards as he was the Chief Guest of the 2nd installment of the awards.
In an interview to IANS, Cyrus states, "These awards are not meant to insult anyone. It is just a way to make it a laughter exercise, a therapy of sorts to forget about the failures and look at what went wrong with the movie and the act."
"By giving these awards, we are not categorising you as a worst actor or director; it is just a funny way to look at things, analyse, laugh and then forget. One should accept the awards with sporty nature and we hope Bollywood actors will give us their support," he added.
With Cyrus as the host and such interesting nominations for the worst, we are sure of the fact that it will be high on entertainment factor and will definitely gain more popularity in India.
