DURATION: 2 Hour
REVIEW: Manoj Bajpai, A Goldsmith in a small town, loves his neighbor's daughter, (Aarti Chhabbria) and is all set to marry her after gifting her a gold necklace. But the greedy girl dupes him and marries someone else. Will the goldsmith manage to settle scores with the unfaithful girl friend ? More importantly, will he manage to find true love?
Manoj Bajpai is a fine Actor; But a fine actor needs a fine story to show off his fineries, doesn't he? What can he do when the script boxes him in a banal role and refused to let his character grow beyond its stodgy confines?
The Problem with Dus Tola is its archaic story which simply doesn't connect with the new age audience. Of course, there have been so many small town stories that have managed to find applause even today; Udaan, Manorama Six feet Under, WELL DONE ABBA. But that was because they dealt with a relevant issue.
Dus Tola Moves more like a moralistic parable about truth and integrity and has a canvas peopled by characters that are neither colorful nor crazy enough. The newcomer manages to hold her own as the singleton who strives to make a living in the strange new town and silently adores the goldsmith who seems to be too smitten by the wrong girl.
Wish there was more of a Story...
